What does the new DC Universe’s ‘Titans’ poster tell us about season 2?

Titans (DC)

We already knew season 2 of DC Universe’s Titans was going to be epic, but now we have an epic poster for a visual too!

The new poster for season 2 has been revealed, and it definitely gives us some hints on the direction the second season might be going in.

DC Universe, an American video-on-demand service operated by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Digital Networks, launched Titans as the flagship series for the platform with popular results. Fans and newbies to the Titans team alike seemed to give overall positive reviews. The DC Universe show has been a grittier and darker (sometimes literally –seriously y’all, let’s get some brighter lighting on set) version of the popular Titans team.

The first season focused on Dick Grayson’s (Brenton Thwaites) quest to separate himself from the Batman legacy, while saving the young Rachel Roth (Teagon Croft) from a cult that was trying to use her to bring forth an ancient demon to take over the world! Along the way we were introduced to the bada** alien warrior princess Kory (Anna Diop) and cutie Gar (Ryan Potter).

The first season felt a bit lopsided, as the focus seemed more on Dick Grayson and his Batman family dysfunction rather than the entire Titans team as a whole. Judging by the poster Grayson will most likely stay the central focus of the show, but it appears Kory and Gar are featuring a bit more prominently. This is hopeful, as one of the main complaints for season one was the lack of Kory and Gar focus.

There’s some new faces with Superboy (Joshua Orpin) featuring largely on the poster. While supporting faces from season one are shown, such as Donna Troy, Jason Todd, Hawk, and Dove (played by Conor Leslie, Curran Walters, Alan Ritchson, and Minka Kelly respectively). And of course we see our main baddie for the season– Deathstroke. Deathstroke’s daughter, Ravager (Chelsea Zhang), is also on the poster.

Who we don’t see on the poster is Deathstroke’s son, Jericho, although we know that Chella Man has been cast as the character this season. Might that mean that Ravager has the larger involvement with the Titans out of the two siblings?

Who is also missing from the poster is Krypto! Where is that cutie dog? Krypto the Superdog always deserves to be featured.

This latest poster has a different vibe from the previous poster released around the time of San Diego Comic Con 2019. The previous one gave little hint to season 2 as our main characters still had their season one looks. Although we did at least get Krypto on that one!

Who is also not shown is the main bad guy of season 1– Trigon. I have a hard time believing that this super bad demon man is completely gone, as he’s always been a major enemy of the Titans (and Raven’s dad too!). Season one left us on a cliffhanger, as Dick was placed under Trigon’s mind control. My theory is that season 2 will will use the first two episodes (let’s hope it’s really only one episode) to resolve that plot point, and then move on to solidifying the new Titans team as a whole.

What are your theories for season 2 of Titans?
