It’s the end of the world as we know it… and it feels depressing.
The new Netflix original “IO” tells the story of a young scientist who is searching for a way to save a dying Earth. She finds a connection with a man who’s racing to catch the last shuttle off the planet. It sounds intriguing enough, but something with the movie felt like it was… missing.

Great review Chauncey! I felt like I was watching paint dry for 1.5 hours with this film. Great premise, poorly executed. I’d recommend, if you haven’t seen it, a little gem called The Divide (2011). Great film about “the end”, but done so creatively and very intimately in a way that actually works.
